Denise IIitch
Denise IIitch now serves as a trustee of the Skillman Foundation and has also served as a Board Member of MLB and as an Alternate Governor for the NHL. As a panelist on Michigan Matters, a talk show revolving around Michigan politics, She is a strong voice for the students and people of Michigan. As a regent, Denise has served as chair of the board, vice chair of the board, chair of the personnel committee, and on the health affairs committee and finance committee.
Tuition: “I’ve asked the University to establish a Commission on Alternative Revenue to find ways other than tuition increases to cover the university’s rising costs.”
Education: “I’ll also continue to advocate at the state and national level for a larger investment in higher education and work for solutions that deal with the devastating problem of student debt.”
Education safety: “I strongly support the safety programs for our students. Sexual assault prevention is a huge issue on many campuses across the country and including ours.”
Education: “I don’t think a student should have to mortgage their future in order to have one. This is why I have advocated for alternative sources of income to the University so tuition does not burden our students and their family.”
Education: “As students change, the relationship should stay strong. It is important to hear directly about student experiences at the University. Many of us rely on our own personal experiences, but I really welcome the input from our students. I think they are brilliant.”
